Antique edition of Tales from Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb, published by Thomas Y. Crowell & Co., New York, and edited with an introduction by Rev. Alfred Ainger.

This charming pocket-sized edition (approx. 4” x 6”) was produced by Crowell in a distinctive tartan plaid cloth binding with a decorative paper title label on the cover — a style used for their gift editions in the early 1900s (circa 1905–1925).

Formerly housed in the Saint Joseph Academy Library of Sacramento, California, this copy still carries its historic library stamps and lending card, adding unique provenance.

Condition: Shows age-appropriate wear including rubbing to the cloth, wear to the title label, and library markings. The binding remains intact and the text is complete.
